Application Project Directions

Directions: 

Each student, or group of students will be responsible for creating a “class or method” of the larger project. 

• All functionality of the program should be broken down into methods contained in 1 or more class files. 
• The main method may be in the same class file or in its own class file and must not contain any code other that variable instantiation and method calls. 
• The presentation of the program must include:
• A program outline and/or flow chart
• Iterations of each person’s code – including non-compiling code
• A brief summary of how the group accomplished the task
• Printed copies of the code
• A display of the running application

Assignments:

Two people will write very few lines of code.  They will pull the project together and perform the following duties:

Lead Programmer (experienced programmer) will write the shell of the class that contains all the methods written by the groups of students.  He will manage the parameter passing from one method to another by establishing all class variables that will be needed.

All other class members are considered “new hires” and will be instructed and trained to complete the task.  The rest of the coding assignments will be decided by the group as a whole.  Each class member must be assigned a specific role.  Document the entire process and get to work as quickly as possible

You will have two entire classes to work on this project

At the end of the project, two people will present it to me, the producer of WNN.  Neither one of those two persons may be Mr. Gulla or Mr. Blum.

Grade Calculations:

 I will give each person a grade based on the following

• How well the final project works and is presented (40%)
• My own observations on how much you contributed to the process (30%)
• Your own estimation of how much you contributed to the process (10%)
• Your classmate’s estimation on how much you contributed to the process/project (15%)
