My name is Scott Allen. I teach high school Chemistry and Applied Physics in a GATE Magnet program which emphasizes technology. A unique fact about my work situation is that I teach in the same high school that my mom, dad, aunts, uncles, and myself attended. I am married to Amy Allen (also in the program). We have two young boys.

I was born and raised in Maryland, a wonderful place to live!!! Currently I'm in Orlando, but don't imagine to be here much more than another year... Teaching is my third career, but definitely my passion. I teach high school social studies--specifically US History, US Government, and Intro to Social Sciences. For fun, I play PC games, video games, swim, and take walks. I'm looking to begin some martial arts training soon--I studied GoJuRyu in Maryland, but couldn't find an appropriate school here until recently. Looks like KungFu may be the way to go :-)

California was my home many moons ago and - I still love it! How I ended up in Florida is a long story complete with villains and heroes! All that's past history - present is more mundane. I teach keyboarding skills to 6th graders and teach 6th, 7th and 8th grade Gifted students on a variety of topics. I have taken a sabbatical from my "other job" of directing and performing for local professional and community theatres. OMET is replacing that for now. I live in Clearwater, FL, although I keep thinking about moving back to California. I am really excited about Pepperdine and the enthusiasm and positive attitudes of everyone. I'm several steps behind most of you - I'm in the middle of selling my house...AARGH. All but one of my "children" are four-legged - two dogs, two cats and the world's oldest living muscovy duck, Mr. Gray.
